What Culture Club is

Culture Club provides team-engagement tools: a Question-of-the-Day product delivered via Slack, and a Skills Inventory product on the web. Workspaces are set up by a workspace administrator; members join through Slack or by an emailed invitation from their admin.

Our role in your data

For the content of your workspace — answers, survey responses, and membership — your organization is the data controller and Culture Club acts as a processor on its instructions. That means your workspace administrator decides who's invited, which question types are used, and when data is exported or deleted; we handle the data only to provide the service. For the account information we need to operate (like email delivery records), we act as the controller. If your organization needs a data processing agreement, email us.

What we collect

  • Account basics — your name, email address, and workspace membership, provided by Slack sign-in or by the administrator who invited you.
  • Your answers — responses to daily questions and skills surveys you choose to submit. Some question types are anonymous by design: those responses are stored without any link to your identity, so no one — including workspace admins and Culture Club — can attribute them to you.
  • Operational data — email delivery events (bounces, complaints) and application error reports, used to keep the service working.

What we do with it

We use your data to run the product: delivering questions and surveys, showing results dashboards to your workspace, and sending transactional email (invitations, sign-in links, survey notifications). We do not sell personal data, share it with third parties for marketing, or send marketing email.

Email practices

All email is transactional and admin-initiated. Addresses that bounce or mark our mail as spam are automatically suppressed from future sending. Workspace admins can revoke any invitation.

Where data lives

Data is stored on Amazon Web Services (US regions) and served via Vercel. Slack data is accessed through Slack's APIs under your workspace's installation.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to what's needed to operate the service, and administrative access to workspace data is logged and auditable.

Retention & deletion

We keep workspace data for as long as the workspace is active. When an administrator requests deletion — or when you ask us to delete your personal data and we verify the request — we delete it within 30 days, and it ages out of encrypted backups within 90 days. Email suppression records (bounces and spam complaints) are kept longer, because keeping them is how we avoid emailing you again.

Children

Culture Club is a workplace product. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.

Cookies

We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can stop participating at any time. For access, correction, or deletion of your data, contact your workspace administrator or email support@cultureclub.app — we'll respond within 30 days.
